Rundtest Function

The RUNDTEST FUNCTION, in which mainly testing institutes participate, was brought into being in 2010 in response to current demand for a round robin test featuring tests relating to the physiology behaviour of clothing.

The following tests are currently included in the round robin test:

• Resistance to water penetration, ISO 811
• Water-vapour resistance, ISO 11092
• Thermal resistance, ISO 11092
• Permeability to air, ISO 9237
• Colour measurement background material, EN 471:2003+A1
• Electrostatic properties, EN 1149-1 and EN 1149-3
• Burning behaviour - flame spread properties, ISO 6941 

The materials tested consist of widely differing qualities, according to requirements, but are always typical examples which resemble practical conditions as closely as possible. Each participant is free to choose which test to conduct and to send in for the evaluation within a limited time. The test results are recorded centrally and evaluated neutrally (each laboratory is given a laboratory code number) in a comprehensive report. An example of an evaluation can be downloaded at downloads. Each participant receives written confirmation of participation towards the end of calendar year.

Participants in the RUNDTEST FUNCTION are invoiced with 420.00 CHF as a contribution to expenses. The actual status of this year shipment of round robin test samples see under annual schedule/status.
